Sophia Watt is the associate artistic director at Rec Room Arts and a freelance director in Houston, Texas. Directing credits include: BETRAYAL, HEROES OF THE FOURTH TURNING, DANCE NATION (Rec Room Arts) WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME, THE OLDEST BOY (Main Street Theater) ON THE EXHALE, EVERY BRILLIANT THING, THE DIARIES OF ADAM AND EVE (Unity Theater) REVOLT. SHE SAID. REVOLT AGAIN., JACK AND THE BEANSTALK (Hangar Theatre/ Wedge), THE WOLVES, THE NEST, THREE SISTERS (University of Houston- Guest Artist), THE EFFECT (MATCH), DANGEROUS CORNER (Lamar University- Guest Artist), OLEANNA, THE VISIT and CREATURES OF HABIT (The Landing Theatre Company), HEDDA GABLER (part of Rec Room’s artist residency). She has assistant directed for Rob Melrose and Theresa Rebeck at the Alley Theatre as well as James Bohnen and Bill Brown at the University of Houston. Sophia has taught directing at the University of Houston and will be teaching directing at Rice University in the Spring of 2025.
